  • Port Isaac, Panorama. The fishing village of Port Isaac (Port Wenn in Doc Martin), lies on the North Cornwall coast between Padstow and Tintagel. Port Isaac once handled a variety of cargo including grain, coal, timber and pottery and exporting the local Delabole slate, but the arrival of the railway in nearby Padstow led to its demise. There is a circular walk of about 5 miles from Port Isaac to nearby Port Quin and back. There are some beautiful views along the route and, close to Port Quinn, is the castellated folly of Doyden Castle, once used in Poldark and in Mrs. Tishell's hostage' episode' of Doc Martin. • Robin Hill Farm Cottages added 2 new photos. Today our friend Jen, with Paul, is walking a 'Strenuous' section of the The South West Coast Path from Westward Ho! through the pretty little hamlet of Bucks Mills onto Clovelly, Devon, United Kingdom (where you can find the famous Clovelly donkeys and search for 'fudge' stones all over the Easter holidays) - they should complete it in sunshine BUT there were mountainous white tops in Bideford Bay today (at least they will be blown inland and not off the cliff!) more

  • Coverack is a largely unspoilt fishing village near the tip of the Lizard Peninsula and the South West Coast Path passes through it. Near the South West Coast Path is Poldowrian Garden which includes a prehistoric settlement. The area between Coverack Cove and Dolor Point is a designated SSSI and one of the most famous geological localities in Cornwall, providing a rare exposure of a section across a mantle-crust boundary. • Godrevy Lighthouse, St Ives Bay, Cornwall. Built in 1858/9 Godrevy Lighthouse guards the eastern edge of St Ives Bay. Its octagonal tower is 26m high. Virginia Woolf first visited St Ives on 12 September 1892, staying at Talland House. It is said that she was so captivated by the view of the lighthouse across the bay that it inspired her to write the novel 'To the lighthouse', though in her book she relocated the lighthouse to the Isle of Skye!
