New website clicks with top reviewers

Walkers in the South West have known about it for some time – but now it seems that the rest of the country is catching on too, with the UK’s top-selling website magazine, Web user, awarding the South West Coast Path’s revamped website an impressive five stars in its latest issue and the Daily Mail describing it as “particularly impressive” in a recent Website of the Week review.

According to Web user www.southwestcoastpath.com contains a host of “useful new content”, including a Walk Finder tool that helps you to plan strolls according to difficulty level and plenty of “breathtaking photos and videos that will soon have you strapping on your walking boots and heading way out (south) west”.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail praised its “interactive map, which walkers can zoom in and out of, looking for easy, moderate and challenging walks which can then be downloaded”, as well as the fact that walkers can “'fly' over a 3D version of the walk, thanks to Google Earth technology”.

This comes in a year when the South West Coast Path was voted the nation’s best Coast Path by Coast magazine, an accolade which it is hoped will draw even more walkers from across the country to explore the 630 miles of spectacular coastline from Minehead in Somerset to Poole in Dorset.
