They come in search of surf, sand and some of the most breath-taking views on the North Cornish coast. Now, thanks to a programme of improvement work, visitors to the spectacular Treyarnon Bay can also be assured safe access as they make their way on and off the beach in a south-westerly direction. Previously visitors were forced to negotiate exposed slate, which had the tendency to become slippery in wet weather, as well as a section of path that had become gullied out. Now a mix of drainage work, new steps and the creation of a level platform at the top of the steps has made it easier for visitors, young and old.

This beach is heavily used by visitors staying at local holiday parks camp sites and the nearby youth hostel. There is also a large car park at Treyarnon which means that a considerable number of day visitors come to the beach.

The project has been carried out on behalf of Cornwall Council’s Countryside Service by Cormac Solutions Ltd and has been funded with the support of Trethias Farm Camp Site, Carnewas Farm Holiday Park and the Youth Hostel at Treyarnon Bay and the Unlocking our Coastal Heritage RDPE Programme.
