The South West Coast Path by Adam BurtonA new collection of stunning photographs taken along the South West Coast Path is now available published by Frances Lincoln. It showcases the work of acclaimed landscape photographer Adam Burton and features some of the highlights along the UK’s longest National Trail.

Adam said, “The coastline of the south west, connected through the coast path, has always been very special to me.  Photographing for this book gave me the perfect opportunity to visit some of the world's finest coastal locations, when the majestic scenery is showcased in glorious natural light.”

Stretching 630 miles from Minehead on the edge of Exmoor to the shores of Poole harbour, the South West Coast Path offers endless opportunities for taking great photographs but it’s not so easy to achieve such great results.

Mark Owen, National Trail Officer for the South West Coast Path said, “The South West Coast Path is one of the world’s greatest walks and it’s easy to see why in this book. Adam has captured the magic and wonder of our beautiful coastline in a collection of photographs that anyone who has ever walked the Coast Path will appreciate and those that haven’t will be inspired to do so.”

The book is available to purchase from all good bookshops in the region and via this link on Amazon. A proportion of the sale price will be put towards Coast Path improvements.

Adam Burton is a rising star of landscape photography. Winner of the landscape category in the annual photographic awards of Wanderlust Magazine 2007, his work has appeared on over 200 magazine and book covers. Adam’s other titles for Frances Lincoln are Brecon Beacons, A Year on Exmoor and The Dorset Coast.

Here’s what some of them had to say about his work:

  • 'Picture postcard stuff, Burton's images are superb' BBC Countryfile magazine
  • ‘Landscape photographer Burton does an absolutely blinding job on the Jurassic coastline and crinkly havens of Dorset - all rendered in the colour and swirl of dream.’ Country Walking
  • 'Rich colours, strong light and wide vistas leap off every page' Amateur Photographer
