There is often understandable confusion about the differing roles of the South West Coast Path Team and the South West Coast Path Association.

In brief, the South West Coast Path Team (who run this website) coordinates the management and promotion of the path. We provide the link between the many people working for local councils and the National Trust who look after the path, and
Natural England who fund the majority of the work.

We work closely with the South West Coast Path Association who are an independent voluntary organisation representing the users of the trail. It campaigns to improve the path and raises money to help it happen. It also provides regularly updated information in the form of an essential annual guide book, route descriptions, souvenirs and much more.

By becoming a member of the South West Coast Path Association (from £12.50/ year) you will join over 5,000 other walkers in supporting their work. You will also receive a free copy of their annual guide book, two newsletters, and access to the members section of their website giving privilaged access to their accommodation database.

If you are a UK tax payer, the Gift Aid proportion of your membership goes towards their path improvement fund, and so you will also be helping make the path even better.

So why not join today?
